Mario Zechner & Armin Ronacher

Pi Coding Agent and Jev integration use cases

Pi 1.0 hooks the tool_call lifecycle from its extension surface, so a decision model can sit at fixed points in the loop instead of being consulted after something already happened. Jev answers three kinds of question about a piece of state: pick one option from a list, return

pi vs pi-fff: measuring what the extension actually costs

I have been running @ff-labs/pi-fff in pi for a while, mostly on the strength of the claim that fuzzy search over a pre-built in-process index beats spawning rg and fd on every tool call. That claim is easy to believe and easy to test, so

AI Agent Sandbox Technologies: A Complete 2026 Comparison

AI coding agents generate and execute arbitrary code at machine speed. That code can be buggy, adversarially manipulated via prompt injection, or simply unpredictable. A sandbox is the security boundary that contains the blast radius. This report compares every major sandbox technology available in 2026 — their isolation models, performance characteristics,

Opencode vs Pi: Local LLM Benchmark Results

Local LLMs are more powerful than many people realize. While smaller models are certainly less capable than larger online alternatives, they can leverage tools to identify errors and self-correct, significantly improving accuracy. For many use cases, local models offer a compelling option: no subscription fees and complete privacy since
